Built to be the authority on digital evidence

Long before founding Digital Forensics Now, Jovianna learned that cases are won and lost based on evidence. Her journey began at the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office, where she worked as a courtroom clerk supporting prosecutors and participating in hundreds of criminal proceedings — assisting with case preparation, interviewing witnesses, and observing firsthand how evidence, preparation, and legal strategy shaped every stage of a case.

She did not begin her career in technology. She began in the legal field and worked her way through nearly every level of the profession — receptionist, legal secretary, paralegal, trial paralegal, eDiscovery specialist, cybercrime investigator, cyber risk consultant, and digital forensics and incident response professional. As a trial paralegal, she participated in more than 50 jury trials and arbitrations alongside some of South Florida's leading plaintiff and defense attorneys, learning a lesson that still guides her work: technology alone does not solve cases.

As technology transformed litigation, she continued investing in her education and professional development, earning a degree in legal studies, a master's in administration, and certificates in project management and paralegal studies, and later becoming a Certified eDiscovery Specialist at the intersection of law and technology.

In 2016 she relocated from Miami to Bethesda, Maryland, to join a law firm as an in-house eDiscovery specialist. During her first month she was introduced to digital forensics — an opportunity that changed the direction of her career. She received specialized training through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and immersed herself in the field through hands-on investigations, expert witness work, cybercrime investigations, and incident response engagements.

She founded Digital Forensics Now in April 2017 with a simple but ambitious mission: to bridge the gap between legal strategy and technology by providing trusted digital evidence to law firms, corporations, government agencies, and investigative professionals. She built the company one client, one relationship, and one case at a time — returning to Miami in 2019 to grow it full-time.

What began as a one-person business has grown into an internationally recognized digital evidence consulting firm with a dedicated forensics lab supporting investigations throughout the United States and Latin America — spanning corporate investigations, financial fraud, insider threats, intellectual property theft, cybercrime, cryptocurrency and blockchain activity, regulatory issues, data incidents, litigation, and expert witness services.

Because she learned the legal profession from the ground up, Jovianna understands that digital evidence does not exist in isolation. Her role is not simply to find information; it is to help clients understand what the evidence reveals, what it does not establish, and how it can support their legal, investigative, or business strategy.

Her commitment extends beyond client work. She dedicates time to testing and validating forensic tools, mobile devices, operating systems, applications, AI systems, and blockchain technologies, and contributes to the profession through the Scientific Working Group on Digital Evidence, Subject Matter Expert exchanges with U.S. Southern Command and the Colombian Military Forces, speaking, publishing, and education.
