What this policy covers
This policy covers this website only. Information handled during a client engagement, including evidence and case material, is governed by the engagement agreement and the confidentiality obligations that apply to that matter, not by this page.
Information you give us
The website has several enquiry forms and a newsletter signup. Depending on which you use, we may collect:
- Your name
- Your work or agency email address
- Your phone number
- Your organization or agency, and its level of government
- The nature of your enquiry: matter type, urgency, data sources involved, event or training details, and anything else you choose to write in a free-text field
You choose what to put in those fields. Please do not include sensitive case details, and do not submit evidence or case material through this website. Evidence intake happens through secure channels arranged after first contact.
Information collected automatically
We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking technologies on this website. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, and no third-party embed. Fonts are served from our own domain rather than fetched from a third party, so browsing the site does not disclose your visit to anyone else.
Our web host keeps standard server logs, which typically record IP addresses, request times, and pages requested. These are generated by the hosting infrastructure for security and troubleshooting.
Cookies
Browsing this website sets no cookies. A single cookie is set only when you submit a form: a session cookie used to prevent automated abuse by limiting how quickly forms can be submitted repeatedly. It contains no personal information, is not used to track you, and expires with your browser session.
Because that cookie is strictly necessary for the security of the form, no consent banner is presented. If we later add analytics or any other non-essential cookie, we will update this policy and ask for consent where required.
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and follow up about it
- To scope and discuss potential engagements
- To send the newsletter, if you signed up for it
- To keep ordinary business records of our correspondence
- To protect the website against abuse
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.
Who handles your information
Form submissions are delivered by email to our own mailboxes. Two providers are involved in the process:
- Our web host processes the form submission and sends the message
- Our email provider hosts and stores the mailboxes that receive it
We may also share information where we are required to by law, or with professional advisers where necessary.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to respond to you and to maintain ordinary business records, and then dispose of it. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing info@digitalforensicsnow.com. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights over your personal information. Tell us what you would like and we will explain what we can do.
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any newsletter email, or by emailing us.
Security
The website is served over HTTPS, and form submissions are transmitted over an encrypted connection. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, which is why we ask you not to send sensitive case material or evidence through this website.
Children
This website is intended for business use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how this website handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top of it.
